Antivirus blocked the installer

New, independently-published software without a long download history often trips antivirus heuristics on first run — this is expected, not a sign the download is actually unsafe.

Windows Defender / SmartScreen

1. If you see "Windows protected your PC," click More info.
2. Click Run anyway.

If a third-party antivirus quarantined the file entirely (rather than just warning you), open its quarantine list and restore the file, or add an exception for it before running.

macOS Gatekeeper

1. Right-click the installer and choose Open (don't just double-click it).
2. Confirm Open in the dialog that appears.

Still blocked?

If your antivirus keeps removing the file even after an exception, it may be a corporate-managed policy you can't override yourself — check with your IT admin, or try installing on a personal machine instead. Reach out if you're stuck either way.
