Updating the agent

The agent checks for new versions and can update itself — you don't need to manually reinstall to get bug fixes or new features.

What an update touches

Updates only ever replace the agent's own application files — the same fixed whitelist that's used to build every release. It's enforced on both ends: the update package is built from that whitelist, and it's checked against that same whitelist again before anything is applied.

An update will never touch:

  • Your .env configuration (API keys, mailbox credentials, connection settings)
  • Your chat history and memory
  • Any branding or customization files

Update window

Your license includes updates for a set period (visible on your Account page as "updates expire"). A Renew Updates purchase extends that window without changing anything else about your license.

There's currently no automatic rollback if an update causes a problem — if something breaks after updating, let us know and we'll help you sort it out.
